Election and the writer’s strike

I guess election coverage has substituted the lack of shows or new episodes effected by the writers’ strike. I feel I should care a lot about the strike but I cannot feel that sympathetic for a group of people who are partially privileged (writers who get paid decent money for their craft) and are fighting against a much richer group of people, some of Hollywood big industry players.

I don’t watch a lot of television so I wasn’t really upset by the strike but it does seem like it has been dragging for a long time.

At least I have been able to be rather entertained by the election coverage. It seems that the media has gone nuts way before getting results, in speculations about strategies and who should win and what could go this way or that way. It almost seemed like watching sports when often times commentators discuss different strategies and possibilities way before the game when really what matters is the game. I especially liked watching the New Hampshire match when CNN and MSNBC kept speculating on the winner even when it was only a 14% reporting.

Not that the strike and the elections are connected, but it seems that we find entertainment in all forms of communication and even the media covering elections can be fun to watch…
