My mom just sent me this excerpt from an old book educating women on how to be a “good wife.”

OMGosh! I couldn’t stop laughing. Did a man write this? LOL!
You know, it’s funny you posted this… I’ve met a wonderful woman who would, these days, be considered an ‘old school military wife’ who shared with some of us younger wives that she cherished the time she had to prepare before her husband came home from work. She did it as a gift to him; a way to rekindle their marriage vows. When you think of it in that respect, I think it’s a pretty neat idea.
I am certainly not saying that I’ll be primping every time my husband walks through the door, but because of her, I think I’ll try a little harder to make things nice, brush my hair, and get dinner ready…I guess I am a little old fashioned…
OMG…if the kids are alive…and fed..and ive had a shower its a good day…I love my husband..his favorite thing to tell people is “I might wear the pants…but my wife hands them to me every morning”..hahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahah..sadly..in 36 hours..another anniversary apart
This SO had to be taken from Erma Bombeck’s “if Life is a Bowl of Cherries, What am I doing in the Pits?”
All I have to say is: One read through this and I FULLY understand The Women’s Movement. Makes me want to print it out and line the bird cage with it. Oh, wait. I don’t have a bird.
I just get a good chuckle out of it, but I still think the sentiment is great- just doing something for your husband or wife just to show you care…
I can understand this in the early days before kids i tried to have everything done for him but he has done it for me in return so it is a sign of respect. Now days five kids later he lucky if I have even thought about dinner.
Lol…I’ve seen this before, while I don’t agree with anything on this page, I do try to have the house clean when he gets home, dinner ready etc…but taking care of my daughter and his niece 24/7/365…he’s lucky I still have hair at the end of the day.
I’m giggling all the way from VA
