So I convinced my hubby that the cramps were real and after a crazy time in labor (I was like 8 centimeters and ready to push) I ended up having an emergency C section (I had to be knocked out , and got a big vertical cut…not that little horizontal one like my friends!) but it was worth it when I saw my new baby’s little boys face. And good news, my husband not only made the birth before he had to leave but he and I finally found a name we both liked… Lucas. I am trying to rest as much as possible but it is hard because I have another 15th month old boy who is a rascal! And he hasn’t quite adjusted to brotherhood! And as happy as I am with the new baby, I feel sad that I can’t give Eli as much attention these last few days. I try and remind myself that I am giving him the gift of a brother! I just feel emotional! For example. not sure if it’s a military spouse thing or just that my hormones are raging, but I totally cried when I watched Jordan Sparks sing the National Anthem before the Super Bowl last weekend. I was so moved when I saw the planes fly overhead and those cute football players ready to play and I don’t even like sports, but I was still so emotional. I guess with having another little boy I better try and get more into the sports thing anyway!
Smiles,
Krista

Welcome baby Lucas! It must be in the water. (I cried too! Jordan did an amazing job singing our anthem) This was my first time hearing the anthem since moving overseas, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Congratulations on your new arrival. So glad your husband got to be there. God Bless!
