My husband, Dustin, came home last night with yet another addition to the ever growing list of places where we could be sent next. This new destination — Bangor, Maine — is even colder than the others. Now our “options” (I use the term loosely because “options” implies that we have any real perceivable control over the situation) are flung to almost all of the four corners of the USA and many places in between.
It’s like Uncle Sam took a handful of darts and chucked them at a map.
So I said to Dustin, “Let’s sit down tonight and go over the ‘options,’ and then make a list of our first, second and third choices.”
And he said, “Oh, well, actually….I already turned in my list today.”
Um, yeah. Basically he just sealed his fate: paying dearly for whichever negative aspects of our new location bother me most, because I’ll always be able to say, “If only I had had a chance to go over that list with you. But NO, you turned it in without asking me, and now I’m freezing my @$$ off in Bangor, Maine!”
When will they ever learn?!?!

First off–Brrrrrr. Second–MEN! Argh.
Well, you won’t be all that far from me. If fate finds you here, I’ll keep you company here in the cold Northeast.
Wow, hope he has his bags packed he may be leaving sooner than he planned. LOL It may not be so cold for him since he’s already in hot water! Hang in there!
Oh no he didn’t! I guess I know who will be shoveling when winter comes.
(taking notes—send Sarah WARM clothes)
my husband is in the navy, hes station here in brunswick maine. It gets a bit chilly at times but i’ve lived here all my life. good luck .
Hopefully one of those places is Norfolk, VA…Our family will be heading there next! Coming from the Western coast of France, I would suggest you bring nice warm coats and expect lots of dreary days in the winter if you are going to Maine
I’ll visit
