GUT - Get Unlimited Texting

So the other day, Katie (the girl pup) and I walk down to the mailbox to get the mail (of course) and as I open the cell phone bill I am SHOCKED at the $240 extra charge. My mind starts to race and I’m trying to figure out what has just happened.

I discover the charges are from texting. This is not LOL funny.

After further research I discover it is from our oldest son’s phone. He is CA and has, it would seem, taken up a new hobby. Texting.

Let me just say, if there is a preteen / teenager in your house who has access to your cell phone, or who has his/her own cell phone and you don’t already have unlimited texting, it is well worth the $20.

When I told DH the story, I actually wasn’t too upset by then. I was happy our oldest, who tends to be somewhat of an introvert was making friends and happily texting them not knowing of the bill he was racking up.

After a call to Sprint/Nextel, they cut our bill in half and signed us up for the right plan.

All I can say now is……

SHWHUT (so happy we have unlimited texting!)

When I bought my first cell phone I chose the cheapest plan and ended up with a phone bill of about $450. I paid it in person, and the associate told (didn’t ask- told) me she was upgrading my plan by another $20 a month to save me that grief in the future. She was absolutely right.

Did you know that all the cell phone carriers give a 10% discount on your cell phone bill?!? All you have to do is call and ask them to do so.
