OMG, I know how your feeling...our house right now is on the rental market and here in our area they treat it as if folks are buying!

Talk about stress, all I am doing is cleaning these days.

I so can't wait to get to our next duty station.

Good luck to you - to all of us ROFL

I SO know how you feel!!!!! We too have our house on the market (has been since Aug 07) and i go through the SAME routine!!!! It seems pointless because we haven't had ANYONE come look at the house in MONTHS! In fact we have had 4 people look at it since Aug and 2 were because of an open house. SO I TOTALLY KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

My word of advice - from one who also has an active family of five - hire a houskeeper! Seriously - just once a week, it's worth it! And if that realtor complains about dust on the, well, anything, you can blame it on the housekeeper!

Alicia I only wish I was moving to Huntsville, I love it there. I can see that I would get bored in one place more than 4 years. I would be the whole totally clean house feel.

Some people even hire actors/actresses to play the roles of their family during viewings/open houses. I heard about it on the news and thought hum I'll get paid to play the part of the Mom. Sweet innocent children, fresh baked cookies, this is the things life is made of right? Who are they kidding? I'm still up for the pay check and well one freshly baked cookie.

Don't forget the air freshener. When we sold our house the Realtor insisted that we have air freshener (no we don't stink) or potpourri burning while she showed the house. Something to do with the affect ??? I hope it sells fast and your move is safe!

I so remember this when we were selling our home in 2006, trying to hide the "lived in look" while still living in our home.....we did not have a realtor, so we showed the house to anyone that wanted to look at it, so it was show ready 100% of the time, OR so I'd like to think it was....now we are the buyers and I saw more houses the week we went to our new duty station to find a home and I gotta tell you, some people need to take heed of this information, their house was so lived in I could not find the house part that I wanted to see.....

Hi Sarah,and other military spouses.

I know exactly what you are talking about my we have lived in the same home since we returned from Germany in 2000, then my husband retired in 03 and we made Huntsville Alabama (Redstone)our home. I miss PCSin every three years (I never thought I would say that). I am now working as a Realestate Agent helping other families find a home, and sell homes that are occupied. It is hard to live in a home that is up for sell.
If any of you out there are moving to the area I would love to assist you in your home purchase. (256) 653-7207
