Knew here. Married my highschool sweetheart almost two years ago. He was a Marine. He asked me to marry him when he returned in 1967. A big bump in the road (one was I saw the PTSD immediately) Anyway, his stuggle went on in another direction and here we are now 40 years later still in love and facing our dragons together - and alone - as it seems to me sometimes. I will be on here to chat now and then. We are older but very young at heart.

I gave up my career in Indiana to marry my husband and move to Ft. Carson, Colorado. It is a nice post and a beautiful place to live. It is just hard for me to be so far away from my family. Any suggestions on how to travel home to see them more frequently or stay closer to them? I am learning about being a milspouse…it is just taking longer than I thought it would. Any help would be great!

I just got remarried recently to a fabulous guy in the Navy Seabees. I was married once before to a man in the military and kept to myself so much I never really got to know anyone. This time I’m happy and am trying to branch out and reach out to other military wives. Plus you can never have too many friends! I’ve never blogged before except on MySpace so forgive me if I sound silly. Chatting with any new friends would be wonderful!

Hey everyone I am a military wife of OMgoodness I just realized how old I am! almost 17 years, half in the Army and and half active duty gaurd recruiting. This is my second marriage but we have been married almost 9 years and this will be my first deployment although he has been trying to go for 4 years. I am terrified and proud. I feel like a new military spouse all over again, I have been very reserved all of our marraige, I am for the first time making friends and getting out on my own since we have been in TX. I am hoping this will be a good experience for me although I know I will miss him like crazy, and my children will as well. I just hope I do everything right while he is gone. Oh and I live in military housing so I have the crazy neighbors I know how it can be sometimes! But the friendships can be great as well!

    Hello Everyone,
Just want to say first and foremost I greatly appreciate the sacrifice you and your spouses make for our country. I am a former military wife and have had my husband at BNOC while I was in Germany with a two year old and one on the way. Talking about a scary time. Military spouses are truly a family. I have been introduced to an extraordinary product I wish I had while seperated from my husband. It is a videophone and can be viewed at http://www.seevideophoneinfo.com It is being used by soldiers to see and keep in touch with families while on deployment, pcs, or just seperated from their loved ones. Hello everyone! Just another military spouse looking to make some friends.
My husband is in the Army and currently stationed at Fort Benning, GA. I’m new to the whole “wife” thing. Anyway, don’t really know what else to say.

Wow, what an incredible site! It just goes to show how wonderful and diverse each military spouse is. I was raised for a little while in the Navy, married into the Army and then joined the Army myself so we could have food on our table in Ft. Polk. (Fresh out of college and you know those student loans, car payments and insurance for yourself unfortunately don’t get paid by your good looks when you go to a post that has no jobs)
My husband has been in the Army 16 years and is currently on his 13 deployment and no he isn’t in the Rangers or Special Forces. We have decided that at Perscom (the military hub for personal records and assignments) that it has his name and right beside it says Please Deploy, loves to deploy. (Unfortunately, no one told him that he loves to deploy)
We have moved 14 times in 16 years and love the adventure each move brings. Besides now when we move I can pack a car that would even make Allied moving company stare in AWE. We have meet many wonderful people and have great friends from all our adventures and I think that is the greatest gift the military has to offer. (Especially when your husband is in the field, your in a brand new country for 45 days and you go into labor and need someone to watch your daughter)
I have an extensive knowledge on the Army side of all the programs if any one every has questions or needs help. If I don’t know then I usually can pick my brain (not for very long since we are in the process of moving again) and find someone who knows the answer. I wish everyone well and welcome to the great life of a military spouse.
